What The Fone


In Early June 2019, the folks at What The Fone approached Graphegic to Optimise their Google Adwords, add Search Engine Optimisation to their website, and make development changes to their company website.

Graphegic created developed a strategy for the phone repair businesses Googgle Adwords. The owner and operator of the business, Rob Yang, speaks native Korean, in addition to English. As part of the Adwords strategy, we developed ads towards the Korean population in Brisbane CBD. We also added pricing for the services that What The Fone offers, to further inform customers before they click on the Google Ads. Finally, we reduced the location in which the ads were targeted to, before we optimised the ads, the targeted area was most of the greater Brisbane area. We have significantly reduced the area for ads to be targeted at, to just Brisbane City, Spring Hill, and Fortitude Valley. These areas are all within walking distance to What The Fone.

In addition to the Adwords campaign, we also tackled the almost non existent SEO on the company website. Before we optimised the SEO, there was no meta descriptions, focus keywords, internal links, or outbound links, whatsoever. Now every page (and post) on the site is fully optimised for SEO, complete with strategic keywords and meta descriptions.

Finally, we did some re-development of the company website. We’ll be honest, the design and development of the site was pretty good before we came in anyway. However there were are very significant amount of readability issues that needed to be sorted right away. Nearly all of the sites pages scored 0 on the Flesch Reading Ease Test, essentially it was extremely difficult to read and had no flow what so ever. We got our content creation team on the case and made the writing flow, made sentences shorter, and improved grammar and punctuation. Most mades did not contain subheadings, and the text was all over the place, so we added subheadings and restructed the pages so it wasn’t all one big mess of content mashed together. In addition, there were little to no transition words and phrases in the content. We bumped that up to over 50%, improving overall readability.
